Got to keep the 1971 license plates, too. I went to the DMV office in a neighboring city and they were very helpful. They scolded me when I signed the seller’s name on a form for the lost title, but turns out my signature was supposed to be there anyhow. Looking for the title in the mail...

Yup. And there’s no rush, either. Registered Planned Non-Op.

That V8-powered Beetle you’re working on is kind of outrageous. Actually, no kind-of to it. Ought to have an interesting center-of-gravity characteristic.

yeah, i start getting stressed when i have gotten something insured, and working like crazy to get money for parts to finish whichever current project, JUST to inspect and register and i start realizing......... “man, that insurance is coming up due AGAIN? its not even moving”

thank you,

a whole lot of what dictated where the engine went was trying to keep the WHOLE engine hid, and clear the hood. also i was determined to keep the manual fuel pump, and so i finagled it until i had enough clearance for it AND the headers. its also tucked way down too. its about 14 inches set back from where v8 s10 swaps put them.

with all of that, it should be able to actually plant the tires, and leave pretty hard. should feel nice and stable around corners too.

You’ll have to sit in the backseat to drive it.

yes. but everything should reach with just a little bit of help. its looking like it should end up fairly comfortable.
